We have been trading for over 30 years delivering refurbishment and remedial/upgrade solutions to both the Glazing & Cladding Sectors. Our experience in this market-place uniquely positions GR to specify, design and install external envelope solutions whether in glass, aluminium or a combination of the two.

Many customers opt for a ventilated façade system because it will significantly improve the thermal performance of the building and provide a wide choice of colours, textures and materials to choose from to achieve the required aesthetic finish to the external buildings envelope. The cavity created between the building substrate and the cladding panels creates a void designed for the introduction of insulation and effectively creates an air flow gap which keeps the building dry, whilst enhancing the buildings thermal performance.

It’s important to highlight that current building regulations state that only Fire Rated Cladding Systems are permitted for use on tall buildings over 18 metres in height, fire cavity barriers are then designed and positioned to reduce the spread and speed of any flame within the cavity/void located behind the cladding in the event that a fire reaches the exterior of the building.

Generally all externally mounted cladding systems are designed to comply with the minimum classification of ‘surface spread of flame’ this is designed to slow and control the spread of fire, only FR (fire rated) cladding complies and meets fully the higher rated classifications of either limited combustibility or non-combustibility. These cladding systems/panels carry a fire classification result ranging from A1 to D in accordance with the issued European Standards EN-13501-1.
