The Tetris Building is an industrial and logistics distribution building in Greenford. The property is situated on the Green Park Way, which is half a mile north of the A40. Situated just 10 miles away from London Heathrow Airport. The warehouse covers an area of 246,802 square feet, with a range of uses including Warehouse, Storage, Distribution, Production, Manufacturing Assembly/Configuration and Offices.

Project Summary

This case study outlines the External Envelope works and overhead rooflight upgrade program to this large Royal Mail warehouse in Greenford, London. 

GR carried out a complete curtain wall refurbishment to the glass façade located to the front elevation of the building, the scope also included the removal and repair of the metal cladding panels located to both returns/sides of the building. The upgrade works include the replacement of all the associated bracketry, carrier rails, insulation. All primary and secondary weather seals were upgraded/replaced along with the pressed metal parapet and interface flashings. 

GR also carried out a complete refurbishment to the centrally located glass roof light, to include the required oversized glass removal/replacement works, this operation was supported by a self-erecting tower crane. Access for the project was via a combination of mobile and fixed scaffolding, mechanical access platforms, lorry mounted and self-erecting craneage. 

Upon completion of this seven-month program of works an industry beating 10-year Insurance backed Guarantee was presented to the Client to warranty the ongoing performance of the structure over the next ten years.
