Our Guarantee
As with all services offered, GLRE will ensure the works are carried out causing minimal disruptions to the building occupants.

High level glazing repair as well as replacement

Not every failed panel needs replacing. Where the glass itself is sound, we repair: failed seals and blown double-glazed units, leaking gaskets and beading, damaged frames, and cracked panes that can be made safe and held until a planned replacement suits the building. If a survey shows repair is the better call, we'll say so and save you the additional cost of premature replacement.

High rise window and glass replacement

Above a certain height, most glazing contractors stop being an option. We work from rope access, MEWPs, cranes and mast climbers to replace high rise windows and glass on live, occupied buildings, with full traffic management and out-of-hours working where the building can't afford to stop.

GLRE conforms to all the latest and most up-to-date health and safety legislation. From our management team through to our site labour, we recognise the importance of having each site operation conducted with safety at the forefront. Each high level glass replacement will have a detailed Risk Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS) documentation provided to the client prior to works commencing. Our projects team will also ensure the high level glass replacement is carried out at a time which is most suitable for you, causing minimal disruptions to the daily operational running of the building and it’s occupants.

If required we will conduct the glass replacement outside of normal working hours, exploiting specialist access and lifting machinery to complete the works safely. When undertaking a high level glass replacement, GLRE are able to supply all the necessary access equipment including cranes, road closures, MEWPs and required traffic and pedestrian management needs to warrant the glass replacement is completed with site safety and wellbeing at the forefront of the operation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are high-level glass replacement services?

High-level glass replacement includes replacing glass in elevated or hard-to-access areas, requiring specialised equipment and expertise.

Can any type of glass be used for high-level replacements?

We offer a wide range of glass types, including energy-efficient, safety, and decorative glass, to meet specific project requirements.

How long does a high-level glass replacement project take?

Project duration varies based on complexity and access challenges, but we strive to complete work efficiently with minimal disruption.

Is high-level glass replacement disruptive to building occupants?

We minimise disruption through careful planning and execution, often working outside peak hours to reduce impact.

How do I know if my building needs high-level glass replacement?

Signs include visible damage, leaks, drafts, or increased energy bills. A professional inspection can determine the need for replacement.

What safety measures are in place during high-level glass replacement?

Safety is our top priority, with strict adherence to regulations and best practices, including the use of specialised access equipment and trained professionals.

Can high level glazing be repaired instead of replaced?

Often, yes. Failed seals, blown units, leaking gaskets and damaged frames can usually be repaired in situ, which costs less and takes less time than a full replacement. We survey first and tell you honestly which route makes sense.

How do you access high rise windows and glass?

It depends on the building. We use rope access, MEWPs, cranes and mast climbers, and we handle the licences, road closures and traffic management that come with working at height over public areas.
