Replacement of 87No High-Level Double Glazed Defective Units.

The removal/replacement of 87No identified defective high-level double-glazed units within a busy operational Hospital environment.

Prior to the works commencing, we conducted a full site survey to determine the access requirements and identify both the specification & configuration of the defective glazing and to achieve the recording of all associated critical dims.

Pre-start meetings were held with the Hospital delivery team to ensure that all proposed control and safety measures were indeed approved and would facilitate the ongoing safe operation of the Hospital Main Entrance and Reception areas throughout the works program, as these areas were located immediately below the defective glass atriums where the remedial works would take place.

To conduct the works safely, the in-house Glazing Refurbishment Safety Manager oversaw the introduction and deployment of debris netting to the underside of the atrium. In addition to throughout the works a fully manned mobile cordon was also located immediately below the works area during all live works.
