Glazing Refurbishment were required to replace 576 identified defective Georgian wired glass panels on various locations to the Northlights above the three aircraft holding Penns - located airside (apron) within the British Airways maintenance facilities.
In addition, GR also undertook a large scale upgrade program to 2,438 existing overhead bays, each bay had 2No existing lead clad bars that needed to be removed and disposed of, to the underside of every bar was found to be existing asbestos rope seals.
Full asbestos removal & disposal control measures were deployed and enforced by the GR large Works London Team throughout the 12-month project.
Glazing Refurbishment operated as Main Contractor and as such delivered all responsibilities and functions as required under the CDM Regs.
The works were delivered successfully on program and budget.
