This case study covers Phase 2 of the delivery of high-level glass replacements, an architectural glazing survey and report, high-level façade clean and pest control at Hull Royal Infirmary delivered by Glazing Refurbishment Ltd.

Glazing Refurbishment is proud to play a part in supporting our National Health Service. This program was a fantastic example of the challenges we can overcome while safely, timely and securely fulfilling the client’s needs.

The scope of this project was broken down into four key deliverables, as outlined below:

78 High-Level Glass Replacements

One of the most significant aspects of the project scope was the delivery of 78 high-level glass replacements in various locations on both the north and south façade elevations. The work required the removal of the existing identified defective glass units, and the subsequent manufacture of the specialist spandrel panels at our bespoke facility located in Suffolk and installation of new panels and defective DGU’s. The productive works included:

  • The provision of specialist glass lifting equipment and IRATA trained rope technicians to complete the replacements.
  • Removal and reinstallation of pressure plates and cover caps.
  • Ground marshalling and cordoning for job duration was vital as all works needed to be
  • completed without impacting the healthcare
  • workers of our fantastic NHS.
